Grief, loss & trauma counselling
Dianne has completed professional courses and workshops dealing with loss, grief, abuse and trauma.
Dianne’s early career was working with terminally ill patients and their families in a hospital setting. She has also worked with patients and their families on the Spinal Injuries Unit who were facing paraplegia and quadriplegia after and an injury, accident or illness.
Dianne has worked with domestic violence issues and extensively with survivor’s of childhood sexual abuse in counselling and group work. Dianne’s empathy, compassion and gentle nature enables clients to disclose and work through painful memories and experiences in a safe, caring and respectful environment.
Dianne is very experienced with using E.M.D.R. (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) which is an effective technique in releasing trauma from the body quickly. She also uses E.F.T. (Energy Freedom Technique) which clients can learn and safely use at home to assist with anxiety and uncomfortable feelings. She is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment therapy
